Indy Food Critic: Haus (Kansas City, Mo)

I found this place over in the crossroads over in the downtown KC, Mo. It is mostly a German bar like place where it is mostly it is a kind of place where they go to when they get off work or just hang out. It had small menu of things on it. Mostly Bratwurst. German bar food. Started off with their pretzel twist where the pretzel taste like if they are hand made with a side of beer cheese. It is a really spicy beer cheese. Took a while to get the main meals. Where serving more of the one's from the outside patio. I had their bratwurst serve on a pretzel bun. Had the two sides with sweet peppers and jalapeno peppers. Brat was all right has a bit of spice to it. It is just like any other kind of brat. I had a large thing of poutine it is bit salty. It was good it taste better the kinds I made at home never all ways get the cheese curds melted like what they got their. It is just a bar that is German place. Just a place to have a group of friend's to go. Mostly for one's to get off work to go. That serves brats and a thew other German kinds of food. Some place I well probably go back to if I was in this area. 1 out of 5 I give it a 3 out of 5. Well be doing more Indy Food Critic reviews soon.

Indy Food Critic: Hog Stop BBQ (Council Bluffs, Ia)

Was in my home town of Council Bluffs, Ia Did went to Hog Stops BBQ over on 35th and 9th Ave over by Harrah's That is 5 blocks where I had lived. Some one on my Facebook page tolled me this place had good corn bread. It had been say it was on a Food show I haven't seen. It is a bar kind of place serves BBQ. I had their shaved pork dinner their with two sides my pick of sides where french fries and smoked mac and cheese. It dose come with corn bread that looks like a hybrid of a Texas toast. Shaved pork was not mostly what I think it was I was thinking more like pull pork or chop porker. It was bit cold probably comes from another park of the pig next to the stomach. Didn't care much for it. Smoke mac and cheese has a smoke taste to it. Had been smoked. The fries where pretty good. Corn bread that looks like a Texas toast was a bit spicy. Do like spicy foods. But not in corn bread as much. BBQ sauce not really the best kind of taste I like for a BBQ sauce. I had better BBQ then this place. My BBQ place is still Papa Bob's over in Bonner Springs, Ks. The one's that every body says is the best BBQ place are happen to not be really that good. Their is no rush to come back to this place when I am in Council Bluffs. Maybe if I get something else that might be better. 1 out of 5 I give it a 2 out of 5. Haven't been doing much of Indy Food Critic's for a while because didn't really went to much place's to do reviews on for a while. Been doing more of the Halloween blogs for the month of October. But I well be doing more Indy Food Critic things soon. Maybe next time I want to go to Starsky's bar and grill for their pig wings and corn nuggets over in Omaha, Ne do a review on it and the same with wanting to go to Big Mamma's for oven fried chicken.

Blood Soda the drink I have on Halloween

Every year in October all ways been making a thing of blood soda. Make it some time in the middle of October store it in the Refrigerator until Halloween to have this stuff. Been making it for a long time. To me it is a tradition for Halloween as carving Pumpkins and wearing a custom on this day. I make it a bottle like you see in the pitcher drink it out of one of the Halloween goblets I yous to get at a Wal-Greens. Been calling it blood soda because it is the color red. Maybe it dose not look or flow like blood. Do make with a big bottle. Yous to be shared with my close friends when I was back in Council Bluffs. Now I still make it just for myself to drink on that day. To make this stuff is vary simple you take any size of a glass bottle of some type with a top to put on. You take half of thing of Mt. Dew Code Red and Tropical Punch Kool-Aid. That's how you make it. Do experiment adding new things with it. Different kinds of Soda's and Kool-Aids. Don't really add any alcohol in it. But had try it by putting some Vodka in it. Din't taste really that good. I all ways make it the same way. In different parts of the year might just put some Code Red in my cup of Kool-Aid. Make the full stuff around the month of October.
